This eau de parfum is a gorgeous, radiant tuberose. Tuberose is a flower with a thick, rich odor that's almost fleshy, which is what makes it so sensuous. The classic tuberose perfume, Fracas by Piguet, emphasizes the richness with a candy note, and pushes the fleshiness towards decay. By contrast, Carnal Flower starts green and fresh, almost menthol-y. You can smell the leaves as well as the flower. A touch of coconut and musk lurks around the edges, lending a creamy tropical sultriness. This is a "you are there" tuberose, totally photorealistic with, as the hardcore fumeheads call it, "monster sillage". Basically, you're just here to escort this lady to the party, and then she takes over. And Carnal Flower is a lady - a powerful and elegantly beautiful 60s socialite, the Babe Paley of fragrances. I do love Carnal Flower, but it's a little overwhelming for me. My poison is the Carnal Flower body butter, which is just as pretty, but not so loud in the Foghorn Leghorn department. Im Katie Puckrik, and I smell.
